About Me
My name is Dominique van Dreumel, and I’m 27 years old, living in Deest (Gelderland). I’ve always had an affinity for what started with ponies, and later became horses. During holidays I always insisted to have an opportunity for lessons or to lease horses and go out on my own adventures!
I started riding horses at the age of 10 and rode intensively for about 7 years. During my secondary education I had a lot of friends who either had their own horses or also rode, which meant I was constantly surrounded by horses and the equestrian sport. I also grew up with photography at home from an early age onwards, and I used my old camera as much as possible around my equestrian friends either at home or at competition.

Currently, I no longer actively ride. However, because I work fulltime as a photographer and see all kinds of horses every day of the week, I can still enjoy horses and express my love for them all the same.

Studies
Van 2010 t/m 2014 heb ik de opleiding fotografie gevolgd aan het Media Art and Performance center op het Koning Willem 1 College in s’Hertogenbosch.
Gedurende de opleiding kwam ik er achter dat mijn passie bij het fotograferen van paarden lag. In het tweede leerjaar heb ik besloten om volledig voor de paardenfotografie te gaan.
In juni 2014 heb ik mijn diploma behaald en in dat jaar heb ik ook mijn bedrijf opgestart en heb ik Equigeniek ingeschreven bij de KVK.
The start of Equigeniek
After graduating, I applied for a job at Bieman de Haas (better known as BR Equestrian). I photographed their collections fulltime for about a year.
Next to my work at BR, I receive a lot of requests to come photograph private clients. Therefore, I made the decision to only work for BR two days a week and to fully devote my time to Equigeniek alongside it.
I continued this way for about another year, but then there was so much interest in my photography that I then decided to take a leap of faith and work full time as Equigeniek focussing on my equestrian photography.
Equigeniek now
Vandaag de dag ben ik nog steeds fulltime werkzaam als paardenfotografe en ben ik trots te kunnen zeggen dat ik van mijn twee passies mijn werk heb kunnen maken. Equigeniek is enorm gegroeid waardoor ik fulltime door binnen-en buitenland reis om ieder paard op zijn of haar unieke manier vast te leggen.
